Privacy Policy

Last updated on May 26, 2026.

Dinge Technologies Kft (“Dinge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the kalauz.app website and the Kalauz desktop application (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. Dinge Technologies Kft is the data controller for all personal data described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Website (kalauz.app)

When you visit kalauz.app we automatically collect limited technical and usage data through PostHog analytics: page views, browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general navigation behaviour. Your IP address is processed to derive this location and is not stored beyond that.

If you submit the enterprise contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, role, company name, company email address, company size, and any additional message.

Kalauz desktop application

The desktop application sends usage telemetry to PostHog’s EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com). This includes:

  • Your email address, used as a distinct identifier when you are logged in — or your machine hostname when you are not
  • Usage events such as app launch, workspace creation, model selection, and message count (not message content)
  • Operating system description, app version, and platform details

When the application checks for updates, it sends your current version, platform, and CPU architecture to our update server at downloads.kalauz.app. No personal data beyond these technical identifiers is included in update requests.

If you connect Kalauz to Linear using your own personal API token, the application queries the Linear API on your behalf when you open a Linear deep link. We do not store your Linear token on our servers and do not receive the content of your Linear workspace.

What stays on your device

Your projects, workspaces, chat history, agent transcripts, file attachments, and authentication credentials (Claude API key or OAuth token) are stored exclusively in a local database on your own machine (~/.kalauz/). We never receive, access, or store this data.

Lawful Basis for Processing

We rely on legitimate interest(GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) as the lawful basis for processing personal data in the following cases:

  • Website and app analytics — to understand how the product is used and to improve it
  • Software update checks — to ensure you can receive security and feature updates
  • Enterprise contact form submissions — to respond to your enquiry

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time. See “Your Rights” below.

Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party processors:

  • PostHog— product analytics. Receives your email or hostname, usage events, OS, and app version. Data is processed on PostHog’s EU servers (eu.i.posthog.com) and remains within the European Economic Area.
  • downloads.kalauz.app — software update delivery. Receives your platform, CPU architecture, and current app version only.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with any other third parties except where required by applicable law or in response to valid legal requests.

Data Retention

Analytics data collected by PostHog is retained according to PostHog’s default retention settings (currently one year). Enterprise contact form submissions are retained until the enquiry is resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter, then deleted. Data stored locally on your device is retained until you choose to delete it.

Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal data in our custody. Data sent to PostHog and to our update server is transmitted over HTTPS. Data stored on your device is subject to your operating system’s file permissions; on Unix-like systems, credential files are created with owner-only read/write access (0600).

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold about you; to restrict or object to our processing; and to receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hungarian supervisory authority:
